Gloucester City will be part of the Severn Valley Youth League’s finals days in May

The Cheltenham Racing Festival is over for another year, which for many is a sign we are coming into the finishing straight as far as winter sport is concerned.

And the clocks going forward in a couple of weeks’ time is a further sign the football season, just like the rugby and hockey seasons, is close to the finish line.

That’s certainly true of the Severn Valley Youth Football League although there are still plenty of games to be played over the next few weeks.

Those games include the prestigious end-of-season cup finals that are always a highlight for players, clubs and their supporters.

This season’s 11-a-side finals – under-13s and upwards – will be take place at Gloucester City on Saturday 9^th May and at Longlevens AFC a week later.

"We are looking forward to hosting our upcoming League Cup finals," said Severn Valley Youth League chairman Sam Myatt.

“The timings and other details will depend on the outcome of the semi-finals.

“These matches mark significant achievements by the players to reach a final and we hope they all thrive on the experience of being part of such a special day early in their playing careers.”
